Biomass hot air for specialised drying applications
When a product does not fit an existing parameter set.
High-value botanicals where a five-degree overshoot destroys the active compound. Traditional foods where the target is a texture developed over generations. Materials with no published drying schedule at all. These require development work, not selection from a catalogue.
Indicative price of a biomass hot air generator, Ex-Works (EXW): USD 3,140–14,135
Shipping, customs clearance and local duties are extra. The final price depends on the configuration and is fixed in the written quotation.
Development process
- 01Product analysis
Moisture behaviour, heat sensitivity, degradation thresholds, target end-state.
- 02Parameter development
Trial-based establishment of temperature, airflow, humidity and cycle profile.
- 03System configuration
Component and control selection against the developed parameters.
- 04Validation
Verification under production conditions, not just trial conditions.
- 05Documentation & training
So the result is repeatable by your operators, not only by ours.
Specialised food applications
- Herbs & spices — volatile-oil preservation, colour retention, aroma-compound protection.
- Seafood — species-specific schedules, salt-penetration management, texture development.
- Traditional & heritage foods — replicating artisanal outcomes at commercial scale with modern food-safety assurance.
- Infant & clinical nutrition ingredients — maximum nutrient retention with stringent microbial control.
Non-food applications
- Medicinal & nutraceutical botanicals — active-compound preservation with GMP-aligned documentation.
- Composite materials — resin curing with tight temperature uniformity.
- Agricultural by-product transformation — converting residue into saleable product rather than fuel.

In prose: the burner runs from 200,000 to 900,000 kcal/h under PLC-controlled staged combustion, firing pellets, 90 × 90 mm briquettes, cashew shell or crop residue. The three-pass double-chamber generator moves 2,500 to 3,000 m³/h and delivers air between 50 and 150 °C, transferred indirectly so combustion gases never touch the product. Drying chambers hold 40 to 100 °C at 2.0 to 3.0 m/s with 1,500 kg per batch, built from 100 mm rockwool-core sandwich panel to a 120-minute fire rating, with SS304 trays and wagons. Manufacturing takes 10 to 18 weeks from confirmed order and receipt of advance payment, and the warranty runs 12 months from date of shipment.
Where this equipment is used
The same equipment is specified across several product classes. These are the ones it is configured for most often:
spice and botanical drying and tropical fruit drying.
Each of those pages carries the drying parameters, cycle times and quality targets for that product class.
Where this sits in the range
This page describes one duty. The equipment itself is the biomass hot air generator, and the closest neighbouring duty is the industrial drying duty.
Frequently asked questions
What makes an application count as custom?
A duty the standard configuration does not already cover: an unusual fuel, a process that must connect to existing equipment, a temperature profile outside the ordinary drying pattern, or a product with no established parameters. The 50 to 150 °C delivered range and the 200,000 to 900,000 kcal/h burner range still bound what is achievable.
How do you establish parameters for a process nobody has run?
By trial, before anything is quoted as an outcome. We will not publish or promise a temperature and cycle time for a duty that has not been run in this equipment. Trials establish the setpoint, the air velocity within 2.0 to 3.0 m/s and the dwell, and those results — not an estimate — go into the proposal.
What is the realistic timeline for a custom application?
Manufacturing is 10–18 weeks from confirmed order and receipt of advance payment, the same as a standard build. The variable is what comes before: trials and design for a genuinely new duty add time ahead of that window, and we would rather set that expectation at enquiry than compress it later.
